Leave No Trace Principles

When the pandemic hit us, working out at home became the norm. However, staying home ALL the time can get boring. So, what else could we do to get our dose of endorphins? By enjoying mother nature!

We had our fill of yoga at home and Youtube workouts. Sometimes we need to grab some fresh air, and nothing can satisfy the craving of going outside than actually going out.

Admit it. You’ve felt much better after a breath of fresh air. Now, imagine going on a fantastic hike and improving your health at the same time– it’s like killing two birds with one stone.

Now, hikes are fun and all, but it’s a two-way street. Mother nature needs a little TLC as well. So, next time you go out on that hike, don’t forget these essential rules.

The Essentials

The right way to enjoy nature at its best is to leave it untouched– as if you weren’t even there in the first place. Don’t leave any traces such as trash or waste. Leave anything just as you found it; this includes trails, plants, and even rocks.

If you’re going camping, opt for a portable stove instead of building a campfire. Bringing a portable stove won’t disturb the environment, and you’ll be leaving the spot just as it is.

Be Quiet

If you spot any of your favorite furry friends, don’t startle them. We get you’d be excited, but they won’t appreciate the loud welcome. Animals can become stressed out if you make loud noises. So, keep it down and observe in silence.– you’ll get a fantastic view, and the animals will be happy.

Let’s appreciate nature more by following these “Leave No Trace” principles. As you pack your bag for that trip, think of bringing sustainable items and making sure you have a baggie if you need to throw out any trash.
