The Oscars – Why Hast Thou Forsaken Me?
The Oscar is perhaps the most prestigious award in the entertainment industry worldwide. It’s a nickname for The Academy Awards, which people are less familiar with.
The Academy’s voting membership will assess the whole performance of the movie, including the actors and the technical merits related to it.
Those who win the votes will receive a golden statuette called the “Academy Award of Merit” from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS).
First Ceremonies,
The first celebration of Oscar was on May 16, 1929, at a private dinner in The Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel and wasn’t broadcasted in the first place.
The award made it to the radio in 1930 and television in 1953, making the Oscars the oldest and originator of entertainment awards ceremonies worldwide.
From the early event, Oscar has handed out a total of 3,140 statuettes to the entertainment industries.
Categories
There were initially 24 categories in the Oscars, but the academy has added more classes to appreciate more parties in the movie production.
Those 24 categories include
Best Picture | Best Cinematography | Best sound editing |
Best Actor | Best production design | Best visual effects |
Best Actress | Best Editing | Best foreign-language film |
Best supporting actor | Best original score | Best animated feature film |
Best supporting actress | Best original song | Best animated short |
Best directing | Best costume design | Best live-action short |
Best original screenplay | Best makeup and hairstyling | Best documentary feature |

Winner
From the latest Oscar ceremony in 2021, the same names came out as the winners of those categories, such as Will Smith, Jessica Chastain, Troy Kotsur, Ariana DeBose, Jane Campion, Kenneth Branagh, and many more.
However, some actors and actresses couldn’t make it yet to lift the Oscar statuette even though they had been nominated several times in different movies.
Then, who are those actors and actresses who got many nominations but haven’t won any Oscars yet?
